Jesus Called the Temple His House That Changes Everything | Paul Blair

Early in His ministry, Jesus entered the temple and called it “My Father’s house.”

Later, He returned with the authority to cleanse it again, declaring, “My house shall be called a house of prayer,” while condemning those who had made it a den of thieves.

That change in wording was not casual. Jesus was revealing His identity, His authority, and His rightful claim over the temple.

The religious leaders treated God’s house as though it belonged to them. Jesus reminded them whose house it truly was.

This short from Paul Blair’s teaching on Matthew 24 examines the temple’s history and the events leading to Jesus’ warning that it would be left desolate.

The question reaches beyond the temple walls: Have we surrendered God’s house to Christ, or quietly reshaped it around ourselves?
